My first book, My Friend Sancho, was published in May 2009, and went on to become the biggest selling debut novel released that year in India. It is a contemporary love story set in Mumbai, and had earlier been longlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize 2008. To learn more about the book, click here.

Only in India will you see a headline like this:
Power cut at mass wedding causes mix-up of brides
Luckily, the power came back before any of the mistakes could be consummated. I see a Priyadarshan film in this, with a mix-up at the start of the film that doesn’t get corrected, and the couples involved gradually falling in love with their accidental spouses. Immense depravity, no, this kind of Bollywood thinking?
Update: Hari informs me via email that a 1992 Mallu film named Grihapravesham had just that plot. That means reality plagiarized.
